Meet Derek Nyrose
Derek is our resident fisherman. When he’s not working, he can be found fishing all around the world, from Caribbean waters to Haida Gwaii and of course, here in the Okanagan. Fishing is a family affair – he, his wife and daughter can often be found on both fresh and saltwater enjoying quality family time. Speaking of family, he loves spending time with his brothers and their families, too. If he can spend time with them while fishing… even better!
Derek and his family made the move to Kelowna over 8 years ago and haven’t looked back. The opportunity to be close to family and enjoy the Okanagan lifestyle were the motivating factors, and they’re proud to now call Kelowna home.
A History of Sales & Marketing
Derek has been in Sales & Marketing for over 20 years, getting his start with community newspapers and then multimedia at The Vancouver Sun & Province. Derek was specialized in Real Estate, helping developers execute comprehensive marketing plans designed to help sell-out their developments. He also spent several years at OP Publishing as a Sales Manager for a group of outdoor magazines including titles like Pacific Yachting, BC Outdoors Sport Fishing and Cottage Magazine.
His love of fishing eventually took him to the West Coast Fishing Club as the VP of Business Development for seven years where he has been helping people from around the world experience the world's best salmon fishing.
Connecting with Family in Real Estate
Younger brother to Nyrose & Associates team leader Darcy Nyrose, Derek has watched Darcy build Nyrose & Associates, and Darcy’s passion for real estate began to rub off. Derek decided to step back into the real estate world and join the Nyrose & Associates team as a licensed REALTOR.
Derek and brothers Darren and Darcy, used to co-own investment properties in the Lower Mainland which gives Derek a keen understanding in real estate investing. That, combined with his previous experience in real estate media sales, and his own move to Kelowna several years ago makes Derek a great choice for those looking to make the move to the area, invest in the area or sell their Kelowna home.
